AFCON: Algeria Beat Nigeria 2-1 To Book A Place In Final

The Super Eagles of Nigeria’s quest for a 4th African nations cup trophy came to an end as they lost 2-1 to the desert foxes of Algeria.

The semifinal match of the ongoing Africa’s football show piece in Egypt saw the Algerians lead 1-0 at half time. The Nigerian side however equalised at the resumption of play courtesy of an Odion Ighalo penalty.

Manchester city winger Mahrez sealed the victory for Algeria with his stunning free-kick after an infringement at the edge of the Nigerian box.

The Nigerian side will now play Tunisia for 3rd place while Algeria will slug it out with Senegal in the final.
