Naomi Campbell appears to have brought a human wind machine to Monday night’s Met Gala.
The supermodel, 48, attended fashion’s big night wearing a dramatic caped pink feathered gown by Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli. While she posed with the Italian designer, showing off a hip-high slit and white lace tights, there was another person who accompanied Campbell on the pink carpet: a man who appeared to be fanning her with a large, rectangular piece of plastic.
Fans were quick to spot the human wind machine and post about it on social media. “Naomi Campbell’s human fan is an actual mood,” one person tweeted. “Naomi Campbell came to the #MetGala with a human wind machine and that is about as campy as fashion gets,” another said.
Indeed, the extra staff played right into this year’s theme, “Camp: Notes on Fashion,”which celebrates all things ridiculous, eccentric and flamboyant.
Campbell’s representatives did not immediately return a request for comment.
