Two American Black doctors from Jacksonville, Florida are making history after becoming the very first Black-owned water company to be sold in Walmart!
Live Alkaline Water, the brainchild of Robert McCray and business partner Dr. Shayla Creer, is sourced from a natural spring that McCray’s family has owned for over 100 years. His aunt is actually who inspired him to go into business for himself when he was a child. “The blood of your ancestors is crying out for you,” McCray recalls. “You’re responsible for this.”
Dr. Creer tells @FirstCoastNews that getting their water into stores was not easy at all. “I called… many Walmarts, and finally we got a hold of one who allowed us to do a presentation,” she said. The couple didn’t know that the regional manager would be present and once the water hit shelves they sold out in a month. Now, they are getting orders for the water all over the world—even in Africa!
As of today, Live Alkaline Water is in two JAX Walmarts and one in Fruit Cove, but something tells us they’ll be eeeeverywhere very soon!
