Lagos-Ibadan Road to be completed by 2021

Construction giants Julius Berger, According to the Nation, has announced 2021 as the completion date for the section  of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The company’s Operations Manager, Thamm Olaf, broke the news yesterday on the site of the project in Sagamu, Ogun State, while taking the Senate Committee on Works, led by its Chairman, Kabiru Gaya, round the site.orks, led by its Chairman, Kabiru Gaya, round the site.

Olaf said the project, which was originally scheduled for completion last year, was stalled due to paucity of funds and some adjustments to it.

The committee chairman, Kabiru Gaya, also discussed the Tin Can Island truck park under construction in Apapa, he told reporters that the project contractor, Messers Borini Prono, had assured that the park would be completed in December 2018.

He said “When we visited this site in 2015, the construction was less than 70 per cent; now it is 97 per cent because money has been paid and we insist that it must be finished by December…We have also said that the facilities are not good enough for a trailer park; there should be more toilets, restaurant and even a small clinic.”
