Nigeria is setting its sights on the stars as it officially joins the African Space Exploration Coalition. This coalition aims to boost space research, satellite development, and space exploration capabilities among African nations. Nigeria plans to launch new satellites that will enhance weather monitoring, telecommunications, and agriculture, improving services for millions across the nation. Dr. Oladipo Williams, head of the Nigerian Space Research Agency, explained, “This is a historic moment for Nigeria. We are committed to leading in space technology within Africa.” The coalition hopes to launch its first collaborative satellite mission by 2026.
